What We Believe
Every person can be equipped with a toolkit for stress management, allowing them to handle the inevitable stressors of everyday life throughout their lifetime. Through breathing techniques, mindful movement and guided relaxation our program is designed to help individuals increase social-emotional learning, self regulation and stress resilience. We empower our students to create strategies they can bring into their everyday life.
Radiant Beginnings ResearchIn order to contribute to the body of work that supports the use of yoga within the school environment, data was collected by Kara Larson, OTD on special needs students and Charles Igel, Ph.D. on our mindful video program.
In Cherrelyn Elementary’s special needs program results indicated improvements across all three areas—sensory issues, self-regulation, and social interactions with the most significant difference being in the sub-category of self-regulation.
The data showed overall improvements in students’ ability to cope with changes in the schedule and a decrease in disruptive behaviors in the classroom.
We currently partnered with Nicole Nicotera, PhD, LICSW to gather data on our mindful video curriculum at the University of Denver's graduate school of social work. We are measuring stress and quality of life as these are factors that mindfulness influences.
